New intro to Workshop Yoga
Mondays 6:30-8:00 til further notice
In workshop style yoga we’ll warm up with some basics and then look at a few postures more in depth. Longer holds, and working on small areas to increase flexibility, improves our practice over time and increases awareness and pleasurability, too.
The core of the yogasana practice will emphasize:
- flexibility in the trunk and strength in the limbs
- targeted muscle tension & release
- improving basic postural movement patterns to reduce strain
- building blocks to more advanced asana, and the confidence, focus and determination that come with
Through this series, we’ll introduce brief practices with meditation aids like candle gazing (trataka), and introduce a few key yoga concepts throughout (yoga nidra, body scans, levels of awareness, and emotions or rasas).
Bring a mat if you have one! We have a few available on site.
Pay what you can: Suggested donation $15.
Yoga is for all levels of fitness and flexibility, but please take care and get cleared by a doctor if you have a heart condition or are recovering from injury.
